Building Bikes Spreading Love
Hi Everyone! Covid is finally better and Build a Bike for Kids in Foster care is back again! I am so excited to have you here on my page. For those of you who are new, my name is Jennifer and I started this campaign in 2015 with a dream to raise enough money to donate 10 bikes to children in foster care. The program has grown over the years and we have donated hundreds of bikes! I am not an avid biker nor do I have a passion for cycling myself, however, as a kid I remember receiving a new bike on Christmas morning and it being one of the most exciting gifts a child could receive. That memory carried with me when I imagined a child, removed from their family, living in a strange foster home, and wanting to give them the gift of a new bike for the holiday season. Many have joined me in my endeavor over the years to spread as much joy as possible to our local youth in foster care. If you would like to join me, please make a donation of any kind to the event. This donation is your "ticket" on building day. Bring your friend, your spouse, your children, or the entire family down to our event to build your bike (don't worry it's not that hard), and join in the holiday spirit of giving to those in need. If you are unable to come down to build, and you would like to make a donation, no fear! We have many volunteers who are able to build your bike for you. All donations are tax deductible as the organization is a 503c approved program. Direct donations can be made to Jennifer Portschy's venmo @ Jennifer-Portschy, or via cash/check and can be accepted up until December 6th. Donations at this site must be made in advance so bikes can be delivered for our event. Please join us for our Bike Building Event December 8 at 1pm at Grantwood Golf Course in Solon, OH. Any direct questions not answered here can be emailed to [email protected] Youth with bike experience in need of volunteer hours, can join us and I will happily sign off on volunteer hours. We would greatly appreciate your help! Adults with building experience are an asset and we would welcome you with open arms to help us with our quality checks before bikes head out to kids.
