Ahoy, There! This Year’s Largest Kids Birthday Party is Birthday Palooza!

Yarrrrr, it’s that time of year again! Foster Love is thrilled to announce our Birthday Palooza event, ready to set sail on April 5th at KidSpace Children’s Museum in Pasadena! This is a kids birthday party like no other, giving children in foster care a day full of joy and celebration, something many of them have never experienced before.

This year’s celebration is all about pirates, and we need your help to make it a treasure trove of fun, excitement, and memories for the foster kids we support.

What is Birthday Palooza?

Birthday Palooza is the biggest birthday bash of the year for kids in foster care! Thanks to our amazing volunteers, every child attending gets the chance to experience an unforgettable celebration. We’re going full pirate-themed this year, so expect plenty of swashbucklin’ fun, games, and nautical birthday surprises!

Why Birthdays Matter for Foster Kids

Birthdays are a big deal for kids, especially those in foster care. For most children, birthdays are filled with cake, laughter, and love. But for children in foster care, birthdays can be lonely, overlooked, or just another reminder of what they’re missing out on. 

Birthday Palooza gives them an opportunity to feel important on their special day, making a forgotten day matter again.

How Can You Help?

We need your support to make Birthday Palooza a success! 

Our event needs sponsors and volunteers to make sure every child gets the magical kids birthday party they deserve. By becoming a volunteer chaperone, you’ll guide a group of six children through a day filled with adventure, laughter, and surprises. From exciting activities to birthday gifts and cupcakes, you’ll help create lasting memories for foster youth who may have never had a real birthday celebration before. Your sponsorship covers transportation for our little buccaneers as well as their admission, birthday surprises, a present, and cupcake!

Why Are Birthdays Forgotten in the Foster Care System?

It’s a sobering fact that children in foster care often spend an average of 1-2 birthdays in the system, with their special days overshadowed by uncertainty and frequent transitions. Frequent placement changes, a lack of sympathy from caretakers, and limited resources make their birthdays easy to overlook. Birthdays are a chance to make kids feel loved, seen, and important, which is why Birthday Palooza is so important.

By volunteering or sponsoring, you’ll be helping create happy memories and an experience that many of these kids have never had before.

Last Year’s Dino-Themed Birthday Palooza

Last year, we held a super Dino Romp & Stomp party at KidSpace. This collaboration between Foster Love, Kidspace Children’s Museum, Make Good, and Hope In A Suitcase, brought together 200 children from foster care for a dinosaur-themed birthday party packed with joy, learning, and unforgettable memories.

They enjoyed interactive exhibits, therapy dogs, danced in the Dino Disco, and even met a real paleontologist. One child, Derek, was so inspired that he said he would become a paleontologist one day. This is the magic that happens when we come together to create unforgettable experiences.
