Foster Love is working with agency partners to deliver California fire relief donations to children in foster care. Foster youth living in group homes have lost everything in LA fires – here’s how you can help them rebuild.

The wildfires in California have caused widespread destruction, leaving many families without their homes or belongings. Among the hardest hit are foster youth and their families, who already face hardship. Children in foster care need our help now more than ever.
Foster Love is actively working with our agency partners to provide immediate and direct relief to vulnerable children. We are delivering crucial supplies including clothing, food, hygiene items and toys, but we need your help getting them what they need.

Accepting in-kind donations at Foster Love
We are looking for these essentials to deliver to children and families in foster care and more to cover the rising cost and demand for help relief:
- NEW clothing (pants, jackets, socks, underwear, shirts, shoes) for children of all ages
- Hygiene products & toiletries (soap, shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste/brushes, hand sanitizer/wipes, pads & tampons, toilet paper, hair brushes, hair gel/stylers)
- Toys (board games, puzzles, action figures, dolls, activity books)
- Blankets & other comfort items (nightlights, flashlights, stuffed animals)
- Baby essentials (diapers, baby clothes, bottles, pacifiers, blankets, swaddles)
- School supplies (backpacks, pens, pencils, colored pencils and crayons, notebooks)
- Non-perishable food items
- Batteries
- Vouchers & Gift Cards (for both restaurants/grocery stores, and retailers like Target/Walmart)

By handling the donation collection and distribution process, Foster Love is allowing these agencies to focus on what they do best – working directly with the children who need the most. Without this support, they might not be able to help them effectively.
The impact of the fires are affecting thousands, putting vulnerable populations at risk
The wildfires continue to rage across California, with no clear end in sight. Thousands of acres have been scorched, and more than 80,000 people have been displaced. Foster youth are among those most severely impacted, facing not only the loss of their homes but the added emotional trauma of losing their homes and belongings. For foster families, the situation is dire, with rising costs for temporary housing, food, and basic necessities. These families often don’t have the resources to recover on their own, making it even more important for organizations like Foster Love to step in and offer immediate support.
