Why Your Donation Matters
Children in foster care face many challenges that can disrupt their education. Kids in foster care often move from home to home, which means they may not always have access to the school supplies they need. By donating new school supplies, you help provide stability and confidence as these children begin their school year. Here’s why your support can make a real difference:
- Over 30% of foster youth repeat at least one grade.
- Fewer than 60% of foster youth graduate high school by age 19, compared to 87% of the general population.
- Only 3% of foster youth graduate from college.
Foster youth move homes an average of 3–4 times per year, often resulting in school changes and learning loss. - Many foster children arrive at school without basic supplies like backpacks, notebooks, or pencils, which affects their confidence and ability to participate in class.
If you want to make a difference this school year, please consider donating school supplies to Foster Love. Your kindness helps change lives, one pencil at a time.
Together, we can make sure every child in foster care is ready to learn and thrive!
