eBay Unites Two Cities for Bike Team Building
eBay took community building activities to the next level with a first-of-its-kind event. At the same time in two different states, eBay employees came together to support children in foster care. From Austin, Texas to San Jose, California, their teams worked side-by-side—virtually and in-person—to build more than 150 brand-new bikes for youth in need.
This was our first time coordinating a dual in-person and virtual service day, and it was a huge success. What a creative and exciting way to bring even more people together!
A Cross State Collaboration
At eBay’s headquarters in San Jose, employees gathered in person to build bikes with care and purpose. At the same time, their coworkers in Austin joined in from hundreds of miles away, building bikes with the same passion and energy. This nationwide effort showed the power of community building activities and how much can be achieved when teams come together for good.
All 150+ bikes were donated to two amazing partners: the Kinship, Adoptive, and Foster Parent Association (KAFPA) in San Jose and Pathways Youth and Family Services in Texas. These bikes will bring joy, freedom, and a sense of normalcy to kids in foster care.
A Look Back at eBay’s Impact
This isn’t the first time eBay has teamed up with Foster Love. In a past event at eBay HQ in San Jose, over 100 employees came together to build bikes and Sweet Cases, filled with essentials for children entering foster care. Their teamwork was incredible, and the event made a big difference for local youth.
