Google Public Sector Joins Foster Love for Sweet Cases Team Building Event

At Foster Love, we know the power of teamwork. That’s why we were thrilled to welcome back the Google Public Sector team for a special virtual volunteer event, where they decorated 20 Sweet Cases for children in foster care. This marked their second collaboration with us and over the years, Google’s team building spirit has helped us bring so much joy and essential support to foster children.

Google Team Building Brings Sweet Cases to Life

This service project activity was an opportunity for 20 volunteers to make a tangible difference in the lives of children who often feel forgotten or overlooked. Sweet Cases are special duffel bags filled with personal items to comfort foster children during their transition into new homes. These bags replace trash bags that too many children still use to carry their belongings when they transition into foster care. By decorating Sweet Cases, Google Public Sector’s team will help foster youth feel valued, cared for, and important.

For foster children, the simple act of receiving a new bag with their own personal items can make a world of difference. It’s not just about having a practical item for their belongings, it’s about showing them they deserve something new, something made just for them. These Sweet Cases provide not only the essentials, like hygiene products and blankets, but also little touches of comfort and encouragement, like toys and handwritten cards.

The Impact of Team Building on Foster Youth

Google’s involvement in team building through volunteer activities has consistently made a meaningful impact. Each event, including this one, strengthens the connection between volunteers and the foster care community. 

When teams come together, they show that helping foster children is about more than just fulfilling a need—it’s about building community. The impact goes beyond the decorations on the Sweet Cases. Every time volunteers like these come together to support foster youth, they are helping to break the cycle of uncertainty these kids face.
