LAM Research’s Day of Giving Provides 30 Bikes for Foster Youth

The LAM Research Day of Giving team building event with Foster Love was filled with excitement, energy, and purpose. 80 enthusiastic LAM Research employees gathered for a hands-on experience that was as fun as it was productive. Teams assembled bikes for foster youth, all carefully constructed and made for foster youth of different ages to ensure every child received a bike that fit just right.

After a day of hard work and lots of laughs, all the bikes were ready to make their way to Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, where they would bring joy, freedom, and a much-needed sense of normalcy to foster kids.

With each turn of a wrench, the LAM Research team built potential lasting memories for children and a deeper connection to their community. This event was only the beginning, with many team building activities planned for the future!

Engineering Meets Teamwork: A Perfect Match

It’s not every day that a group of engineers gets the chance to apply their skills in such a meaningful way, but for the team at Lam Research, building bikes for foster youth felt like second nature. With their technical expertise and engineering precision, they effortlessly zipped through the bike assembly process, handling everything from small wheels for young riders to larger ones for older kids.

Their know-how made the entire task seem seamless, and the excitement was palpable. Many employees took it a step further, assembling two bikes each, driven by a shared passion to do more and create a bigger impact.

The energy in the room was electric, and it was clear that this wasn’t just another team-building activity—it was a chance to make a genuine difference. Working side-by-side, everyone was fully engaged, knowing that each completed bike would soon bring joy to a foster child in need. And the best part? The Lam Research team had an absolute blast doing it, blending purpose with fun in the best way possible.

Heartfelt Moments

One of the most memorable moments of the day came when participants shared personal stories and moments of reflection. Some employees were visibly moved by the experience and learning about children in the foster care system, even shedding tears and talking about their own connections to foster care and adoption. It was a reminder of how meaningful and powerful it is to give back to the community, and how moments like these inspire real change.

By the end of the event, many employees were already asking about how they could get more involved. One participant even expressed an interest in learning more about the adoption process, showing how deeply he had been touched by the experience.

Moments like these are what make team building activities so powerful, and why we at Foster Love are impassioned about our work. Not only do these events strengthen the bond between coworkers, but they bring everyone in the foster care community closer together.

Looking Forward to More Bikes, More Fun, and More Giving Back

The success of the first Lam Research Day of Giving team building event is just the beginning. With plans already underway to expand the next events with even more bikes and potentially other team building activities, there’s a lot to look forward to. The team is eager to take on even more bikes next time, for even greater impact.

Here’s to more bikes and more team building with a purpose because the LAM Research team is just getting started!
