Latter-day Saints Volunteers Bring Comfort Through Socktober and Care Packs

This Socktober, volunteers from the Church of Latter-day Saints community made a huge impact at Foster Love HQ. Their efforts focused on two incredible initiatives: packing a whopping six pallets of Bombas shirts and underwear to support foster youth during the colder months as well as assembling 165 care packs designed to help college students in foster care.

The Latter-day Saints volunteers’ service exemplifies their commitment to fostering connection and helping others, creating meaningful change for those in need.

Care Packs for College Students

In addition to Socktober efforts, the volunteers also focused on packing 165 care packs for college students. These packs included essential items to help students feel cared for and supported as they juggle the demands of higher education. For many students in foster care, navigating college life without the safety net of a traditional family can be daunting.

The care packs were designed to provide comfort and encouragement, showing students that they’re not alone in their journey. With practical items and thoughtful touches, these packs serve as a reminder that a community is cheering them on and invested in their success.

Socktober Essentials Ready to Ship

Our Socktober campaign this year focused on shipping out over 57,500 pairs of Bombas socks as well as underwear and t-shirts to foster youth to help them during the colder winter months. With the help of the dedicated Latter-day Saints volunteers, these Bombas donations were organized and packed onto six pallets. That’s thousands of items ready to go out to kids who need them most!

This work helps ensure foster youth have what they need to stay warm, comfortable, and confident during the holiday season.

Service That Builds Connection

For the Church of Latter-day Saints volunteers, service is more than just giving time—it’s about building connections. Their commitment to helping others stems from a belief in the power of community and the importance of uplifting those in need. This aligns perfectly with Foster Love’s mission to support children and young adults in foster care.

Through their hands-on involvement, these volunteers not only helped provide essential items but also contributed to creating a sense of hope and belonging for the recipients. Their efforts demonstrate how acts of service, no matter the size, can have a ripple effect, fostering positivity and encouragement for those on the receiving end.

A Shared Mission with Service-Oriented Volunteer Activities

The partnership between the Latter-day Saints community and Foster Love is a testament to the incredible things that can be achieved when people come together for a shared purpose. From their dedication to organizing Bombas donations for Socktober to creating thoughtful care packs for college students, these volunteers exemplify what it means to give back in a meaningful way.
