Magical Moments at November Disney Days Last Weekend
Last weekend, Foster Love’s Disney Days event brought unforgettable moments of joy and connection to over 50 siblings separated by the foster care system. As always, it was a day filled with magic, love, and family bonding. Our dedicated Disneyland volunteer groups were there every step of the way, helping make sure these reunions were nothing short of extraordinary with once-in-a-lifetime moments happening all day long.
Five Siblings Reunited for the First Time in Years
Among the happy reunions this year, one group stood out: a group of five brothers and sisters who hadn’t seen each other in years. The moment they spotted each other across the parking lot, the years apart disappeared as they hugged each other and came together like no time had passed at all.
You could see the love and connection between them as they spent the day together, having fun, meeting princesses, and splitting snacks. They were a reminder to each Disneyland volunteer at Foster Love why sibling reunification is so important. Disney Days gave these siblings a chance to feel the love of family again, and showed us that love is the strongest bond there is.
A Special Invitation in the Royal Hall
To add more to the day’s magic, a group of kids got to meet three of their favorite Disney princesses—Cinderella, Tianna, and Ariel—in a private one-on-one meet and greet in the castle Royal Hall!
Everyone got to pose for photos with their favorite princess and ask them about their fairy tale endings. It was an enchanting experience and the princesses made every child feel like royalty themselves. This added a touch of sparkle on an already extraordinary day as the princesses made every child feel seen, celebrated, and truly magical.
But the day got even better: as the kids stepped outside the Royal Hall, the magic continued as they bumped right into Flynn and Rapunzel! The surprise encounter brought even more excitement, with hugs, laughter, and a few cheers as the children got to meet two more beloved Disney characters.
Why Sibling Reunification Matters
Sibling reunification is at the heart of what we do at Foster Love. For kids in foster care, having a sibling by their side brings comfort, joy, and a sense of family, even when life is uncertain. Events like Disney Days are all about helping these kids create memories like the above with their siblings, reminding them they are loved and cherished. Staying connected to family is crucial for these children, and we’re honored to be part of making that happen.
Behind the Magic with Our Disney Days Volunteer Team
Disney Days wouldn’t be possible without our fantastic Disneyland volunteer team, who gave their time and hearts to make this day magical for every child. Every volunteer helps make the day run smoothly, guiding our siblings, helping make sure everyone is a part of the fun (and even joining in on the fun themselves sometimes!)
From hugs and high-fives to kind words and shared laughs, our volunteers make a real difference, making sure each child feels welcomed, safe, and celebrated.
Their dedication was a gift to each child, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their incredible hearts and the magic they helped bring to life.
Here’s to many more magical Disney Days, where we can celebrate sibling reunification and the power of family—one unforgettable day at a time!
