NASA Team Building Spreads Joy to Children in Need
NASA engineers teamed up for a fun and meaningful NASA team building event, creating an exciting Day of Service for the holidays. With 150 employees participating, the event was held alongside NASA’s holiday party, making the celebration extra special by giving back to the community.
The event was a huge success, where team members built bikes, assembled skateboards, and put together STEM kits. All of these items were donated to Five Acres, a nonprofit in Altadena that has been serving children in need for over 135 years.
A Celebratory Day of Service with a Purpose
NASA’s Day of Service was all about giving back, with employees coming together to create something positive for children in their community. The team spent the day building bikes, which not only give kids a chance to play, but also foster a sense of normalcy for those who may miss out on such simple joys while in foster care. Skateboards were also assembled, giving children a new way to express themselves, and STEM kits were put together to spark curiosity and help kids learn and grow in meaningful ways.
Five Acres is dedicated to providing services that ensure the well-being of children and families. The agency focuses on strengthening families and creating safe environments for children, as well as addressing their mental health needs. By collaborating with them, NASA employees were able to contribute in a way that truly made a difference. These donations will help children thrive, providing them with the tools to explore, learn, and experience the joy of childhood—something many of them may not get to enjoy as fully as others.
Supporting an Agency with Over 135 Years of Service
It was truly an honor to help NASA’s team support Five Acres. The items donated are a direct reflection of the kindness, creativity, and passion of the NASA team, and they will provide much-needed support to children in foster care. As Five Acres continues its mission of improving the lives of children and families, the hope is that this partnership grows and continues to inspire future collaboration. NASA’s generosity and commitment to giving back will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the community.
Creating Impact through Teamwork
The event also highlighted the power of teamwork in making a real difference. NASA team building activities like these foster collaboration and bring employees closer together, all while making a positive impact on children’s lives. With their creative contributions, NASA engineers showed how much can be accomplished when people work together toward a common goal. The excitement and energy of the event were evident throughout the day, and the results spoke for themselves.
Thank You, NASA Team!
In the end, the NASA team building event was not just about creating bikes, skateboards, and STEM kits—it was about giving children the chance to thrive. Thanks to NASA’s thoughtful contributions, kids at Five Acres will have more opportunities to play, learn, and grow. This Day of Service was a perfect example of how team building can go hand in hand with community service to make the world a better place.
Here’s to more partnerships and more giving in the future!
