Team builders are those organizations with people who value the cultivation of their members. They see the individual’s contribution as part of the great organization and strive to develop them further. Team builders are the people who support one another. They always look to make a positive cultural change and help someone grow. Because they are the people tending the to metaphorical work garden.
Recently, we had the pleasure of working with U.S. Cellular team. We were able to help their team builders with a philanthropic service project to benefit local kids in foster care.
Who is U.S. Cellular?
Currently, U.S. Cellular serves around 4.8 million customers in 23 states. Created in 1983 as the cellular division of Telephone and Data Systems, U.S. Cellular’s history focuses on building better communities through connectivity.
Their Community Involvement Mission Statement reads, “We strive to build a connection with our communities that extends beyond our business by supporting a cause that strengthens every neighborhood where we live and work.”
One key element to their mission is their passion for helping children. “We’re committed to enhancing the learning experience for children and communities by championing K-12 and STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math] educational programs. Our giving efforts include financial donations, in-kind donations, volunteering, and our Associate Matching Program.”
One Event Three Locations!
U.S. Cellular commitment to being team builders extends organization-wide. They were so excited about helping the community, they took on the project at three different locations! The offices in Chicago, IL, Knoxville, TN, Madison, WI, all participated in decorating and assembling 116 Sweet Cases for kids in foster care. “I know everyone had a lot of fun! Thank you for the opportunity,” said U.S. Cellular employee Kim Ward.
U.S. Cellular wanted to get the community involved so they opted to fundraise for the duffle bags. In total, they raised $3789.30!!! Which is now being matched by the company for a team build in the future. Above all, we are so excited for their team to come together again to help kids in foster care.
In Conclusion
In conclusion, we are so thankful for having the support of our friends at U.S. Cellular. The joy this donation brings to children from three different cities is simply amazing. We are humbled by your kindness.
