Team Building with Inglewood Rotary Club

Team Building with Inglewood Rotary Club

Team building is, of course, about strengthening bonds between teammates, but it’s also about making a real difference. Recently, the Inglewood Rotary Club came together for a hands-on volunteer experience, assembling Sweet Cases, bikes, and skateboards for foster youth with Foster Love. The items from this incredible effort are going to The RISE Program at Da Vinci High in El Segundo, a program dedicated to supporting students facing housing instability, foster care, and other challenges.

Building A Brighter Future for Foster Youth

The members of Inglewood High’s Rotary Club worked together fantastically to build bikes and skateboards, each one a gift that represents more than just a mode of transportation. For youth at The RISE Program, these items will provide independence, mobility, and the simple joy of having something of their own. A bike or skateboard can offer freedom—whether it’s getting to school, visiting friends, or just enjoying a ride around the neighborhood.

Each item was carefully assembled by Inglewood Rotary Club members, who took pride in knowing their hard work would bring smiles to kids in need. It was inspiring to see the teamwork in action, with teammates helping each other along the way, making sure every bike and skateboard was built to last.

The volunteers also packed Sweet Cases, duffle bags filled with comfort items like blankets, teddy bears, and hygiene kits. These replace the trash bags that many foster youth are given when moving between homes.

The students at The RISE Program are often dealing with difficult transitions, and receiving a Sweet Case reminds them that they are valued and cared for. Every duffle bag was decorated with love, featuring personal touches that made them even more special.

The Power of Team Building

This event showed how team building can make a lasting impact. The Inglewood Rotary Club demonstrated the power of coming together for a meaningful cause, proving that teamwork isn’t just about working better together—it’s about supporting the community.

The dedication and enthusiasm of the volunteers made this event a huge success, and the impact of their work will be felt long after the last bike was built. By supporting organizations like The RISE Program, these volunteers are helping foster youth gain the resources and support they need to succeed.
