Key Club Teens at Santiago High School Making a Difference
At Foster Love, we are constantly inspired by the incredible young people who step up to make a difference. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with 20 dedicated Key Club members from Santiago High School in Corona, CA. Through team group activities with Santiago High School, these students gave their time and effort to help foster youth in a big way.
Dedication on Display
On a Saturday morning, when many teenagers might have chosen to relax or hang out with friends, this group from Santiago High School chose to spend their day building a brighter future for foster kids. Together, they built 20 STEM Boxes and packed 150 care packs for the Academic Services Department, which supports educational needs for foster youth.
These students recognized that education is a powerful tool to unlock opportunity. By assembling STEM kits, they provided kids with hands-on learning experiences that spark creativity and curiosity. Meanwhile, the care packs, filled with essentials and thoughtful items, were designed to support students’ academic journeys and remind them that they’re not alone.
What the Power of Teamwork Can Do
Key Club members worked together seamlessly, dividing tasks, encouraging one another, and putting care into every kit and pack they prepared.
For foster children, STEM Boxes can ignite an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math, opening doors to future possibilities. Similarly, receiving an academic care pack shows these kids that someone believes in them and their potential.
The students from Santiago High School understood this and brought a level of dedication and thoughtfulness that made their contributions truly meaningful.
Young Leaders Stepping Up
What stood out most during this event was the genuine enthusiasm and compassion the students demonstrated. It’s one thing to complete a project—it’s another to approach it with the understanding that your work can change lives. These Key Club members are a shining example of how young leaders can step up to create a positive impact in their community.
Volunteering isn’t always easy. It takes time, energy, and commitment, and these students willingly gave all three. They showed that no matter how young you are, you have the power to make a difference, especially when you work as a team.
Gratitude and Hope for the Future
We are so grateful to the Key Club members from Santiago High School for their hard work and dedication. Their participation in team group activities reflects the values we hold dear at Foster Love: compassion, teamwork, and the belief that every child deserves to feel supported and cared for. We hope that team group activities with Santiago High School will continue in the future!
By building STEM kits and packing care packs, these students didn’t just complete a task—they created opportunities for foster kids to grow, learn, and thrive. We hope their example inspires other schools and groups to get involved and give back.
Thank you, Santiago High School, for making a lasting impact on foster youth. Your efforts remind us all of the incredible difference young people can make when they come together to help others!
