Teens Making a Difference at Brea Olinda High School
Brea Olinda High School students came together for their first club activity with Foster Love in Brea, CA. This inspiring group of teens spent their weekend packing 300 Bombas bundles for recipients of the CSUSB Renaissance Scholars Program, demonstrating just how much of a difference young leaders can make in their community.
What Are Bombas Bundles?
Bombas bundles are carefully curated care packages filled with premium socks, underwear, and other essentials from our partners at Bombas. For students in the CSUSB Renaissance Scholars Program (which supports foster youth pursuing higher education), these bundles mean so much more than comfort. They represent encouragement and care; they are reminders that someone is rooting for them as they work toward their dreams. By assembling these thoughtful packages, the Brea Olinda high school students helped create a sense of security and belonging for their peers.
The Power of Teens in Action
The energy and commitment from Brea Olinda High School is proof that teens have the potential to create real change. While their peers may have opted for a regular Saturday, these students chose to give back. It’s this kind of initiative that not only strengthens their community but also builds their own skills in leadership, teamwork, and empathy. Group activities for high school students like this are more than volunteering—they’re opportunities to develop lifelong values and connections.
Youth Leadership in Action
Volunteering your time is a worthy way to spend a weekend, and Brea Olinda’s students have set an impressive standard. Their commitment to packing hundreds of Bombas bundles reflects their determination to make a tangible impact in their community. It also highlights their understanding of the challenges faced by foster youth and their willingness to step up to help.
This leadership and dedication will undoubtedly carry forward as they take on future projects.
Brea Olinda High School is just getting started, but their first team building activity has shown their peers how they, too, can take part in meaningful work, proving that age is no barrier to making a difference. With a focus on service and community, they are poised to make an even greater impact in the months and years ahead.
Whether packing Bombas bundles or tackling new projects, the students of Brea Olinda High are setting an example for other teens. Their efforts are a testament to the power of group activities for high school students to create change, build connections, and inspire future leaders.
