First Look at Christian Bale’s Foster Care Village!

Christian Bale’s foster care village in California is finally taking shape! Through his organization, Together California, Bale is creating a supportive community where children in the foster care system—especially foster siblings—can grow up together, feel safe, and thrive. The Progress Update

As of February 2026, multiple buildings have risen from the Palmdale site, showing clear progress on this groundbreaking project. Eleven multifamily structures are now in place, including ten connected townhome units and one larger building attached to what will be administrative offices and shared space for community support.

Across the site, workers and heavy machinery are transforming what was once open land into a village designed to serve children in the foster care system. These structures will soon become homes where foster kids and foster siblings can live together, supported by trained foster parents and surrounded by a community built for connection, stability, and growth.

The Plan: a New Community for Foster Kids and Their Families

Christian Bale’s foster care village will feature 12 three‑bedroom townhomes, each arranged to house six children alongside a full‑time trained foster parent.

The goal is simple: help foster kids feel safe, supported, and free from the added trauma that comes with frequent moves or sibling separation.

Studio apartments on site will also serve two important purposes: offering temporary space for birth parents when appropriate, and providing transitional housing for young adults who are aging out of the foster care system.

A 7,000‑square‑foot community center is planned as well. This space will host programs and services for education, counseling, enrichment, and activities that help children build life skills and confidence—resources that children in foster care often lack.

Keeping Foster Siblings Together

One of the most important features of Christian Bale’s foster care village is its commitment to keeping siblings together. Research shows that most siblings in foster care get separated, which can make emotional trauma worse and make life in care much harder.

By creating a village where brothers and sisters can stay in the same foster home, Together California is helping change that story. Children will grow up with familiar support, helping them build healthier relationships, stronger social skills, and happier childhood memories.

The Vision Behind Together California

Christian Bale’s interest in helping children facing instability began years ago. Inspired by imagining what life would be like for a child without close family support, Bale joined forces with Executive Director Tim McCormick and Dr. Eric Esrailian to launch Together California—a program focused on helping children in the foster care system thrive rather than just survive.

Even though Bale had never personally experienced foster care, he has said that the vision is rooted in compassion and a belief that society should care for its most vulnerable children. Over nearly two decades, his dedication has helped this village go from idea to reality.

A Brighter Future for Foster Care

Once complete, the village will stand as a new model for the country—one that shows what is possible when community, compassion, and thoughtful design come together. Foster kids will have stable homes. Foster parents will have resources and support. Siblings will remain connected. And children will finally have the sense of belonging they deserve.
