"For the last few years, I’ve worked with animals- in shelters, through an humane education department, and as a Veterinary Assistant. I currently work at a small and exotic animal practice in San Diego, so I get to work with and learn about so many different species. Every day in my field is both challenging and rewarding. "I have been in foster care since I was thirteen years old. I have always had a passion for animals and I wanted to make it my career. The scholarship I received helped me a lot. With it, I could purchase my textbooks and study programs. I received a monthly allowance, which relieved my worries about meals or class materials and allowed me to focus entirely on my studies. As a result, I made it onto the Dean's List for both the Fall and Spring semesters this year with a GPA of 3.71 and now I am taking summer classes!"
