What Is Involved?
Foster Love’s Birthday Palooza is the birthday bash of the year for our kids! Thanks to our amazing volunteers, every child gets the chance to experience an unforgettable celebration. As a volunteer at Birthday Palooza, you’ll be a chaperone for a group of 6, making sure each child has a memorable and joyful birthday celebration.
Do I Need to Pay Admission?
Your sponsorship of $60 (individual) or $360 (group) covers the event. Event participation fee will be requested after background check.
Financial Requirements
To take part in Birthday Palooza, each chaperone must sponsor or fundraise for a child. Individual sponsorships are $60 and groups of 6 are $360.
What Does My Sponsorship Cover?
Your sponsorship covers the costs of transportation for a child, as well as their birthday gift. It also covers admission, meals, and special treats for both you and the child.
Volunteer Requirements
For safety, all Birthday Palooza volunteers must be 18 years or older and are required to complete a background check before participating in the event.
How Long Are the Shifts?
To give every child a birthday they'll always remember, we ask that volunteers commit to the full event day, which is between 7-8 hours, to allow time for setup and activities.
Is Transportation Provided for Volunteers?
Transportation is provided for the children attending. However, volunteers are responsible for their own travel arrangements, both to and from the event location.
Why Are Birthdays Forgotten In The Foster Care System?
Children in foster care spend an average of 2-3 birthdays in the system, and many of those celebrations slip through the cracks. Frequent placement changes, a lack of sympathy, and a lack of resources make their birthdays easy to overlook.
Birthdays are a chance to make kids feel loved, seen, and important. That’s why Birthday Palooza is so important. By volunteering, you’ll be helping create happy memories and an experience many of these kids have never had before.
