Last Week to Donate School Supplies for Kids in Foster Care

School is an important part of every child’s life, but for children in foster care, having the right tools can make all the difference. This is the last week to contribute to school supply donations for Foster Love, helping kids start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

Why These Donations Matter

Children in foster care often face unique challenges that can affect their education. Many move from home to home, switch schools, and sometimes start a new year without the basics—backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and other supplies that most students take for granted. Your school supply donations create stability and a sense of normalcy for these kids.

Here’s what your contributions can help provide:

  • Notebooks, three-ring binders, and folders
  • Wide-ruled paper, pencils, pens, highlighters, and markers
  • Pencil pouches, boxes, crayons, and colored pencils
  • Glue sticks, scissors, rulers, and calculators
  • Backpacks and lunch pails
  • Erasers and pencil sharpeners

Every item donated goes directly to children in foster care, many of whom face obstacles just to have the tools they need to succeed in school.

How You Can Donate

There are two easy ways to give this week:

  1. Drop off supplies in person at our headquarters in Brea, California, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Our address is 560 W Lambert Rd, Brea, CA 92821. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference!

  2. Shop our Amazon Wish List online and have supplies shipped directly to Foster Love. This is a convenient way to help from anywhere. You can find the list here: Foster Love Back to School Wishlist 2025.

The Impact You Make

Foster youth face unique challenges during the school year:

  • Over 30% of foster youth repeat at least one grade.
  • Fewer than 60% of foster youth graduate high school by age 19, compared to 87% of the general population.
  • Only 3% of foster youth graduate from college.
  • Foster youth move homes an average of 3–4 times per year, often causing school disruptions.

Your support ensures that foster children begin the year ready to learn, confident, and supported. By donating this week, you can help change a child’s school experience for the better.

Don’t wait! Make your school supply donations today and help children in foster care thrive this school year!
