Skateboard and Bike Build Team Building with the Safelite Team

At Foster Love, we love teaming up with other organizations who care about making a difference in the lives of children in foster care. Our recent bike build team building with Safelite Foundation in Ontario, California, was a great example of what can happen when a group of dedicated people come together to help others. Over 80 Safelite employees joined us to build 14 bikes and skateboards for local foster youth in the community.

Bikes and Boards for Foster Children Safe Haven, Inc.

Safelite has been partnering with Foster Love for years, and this time, the team helped build a sense of belonging for foster kids who don’t always get that feeling. Their bikes and skateboards were donated to Foster Children Safe Haven Inc. in Rancho Cucamonga where they offer children there the joy of riding, racing, and simply being kids. These gifts represent freedom, independence, and a chance to create happy memories—things every child deserves.

A Shared Mission with Safelite

Beyond assembling bikes and skateboards, Safelite has been a key partner in creating Safe Spaces for foster youth this past year. Together, we’ve worked to provide secure, welcoming environments where families can meet and feel more at home. Team building events are just a small piece of a big part in our shared mission to improve the lives of foster youth.

These events create tangible results while bringing people together. Safelite Foundation’s dedication to this mission continues to inspire us, and we’re grateful for their partnership in making a difference, one child and one safe space at a time.

Unexpected Moments of Happiness

The day was full of special moments. One of the most touching times came when we talked about why bikes and skateboards are so important for kids in foster care. They offer freedom, a way to explore, and independence—things that can be hard to come by for these kids.

As we talked, Safelite employees shared personal stories about how playing with bikes or skateboards impacted their own childhoods. One person mentioned how they wished they’d had this kind of support growing up and how amazing it felt to give it to kids now.

Sharing these unexpected moments of happiness from our childhoods made the event feel even more meaningful.

Teamwork and Energy

The energy in the room was incredible. Safelite Foundation employees worked together like a well-oiled machine, sharing tools, offering help, and cheering each other on. It wasn’t just a day of work—it was a day of connection.

Events like these don’t just help kids; they bring coworkers closer together, too. The Safelite team showed how teamwork can make a real difference, both for the community and for the people involved.

Looking Ahead

We’re so thankful for Safelite’s enthusiasm and heart. Their dedication inspires us to keep pushing forward. As we look ahead, we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together next!

This event was just one of many in Safelite Foundation’s ongoing partnership initiatives with Foster Love. Over the years, Safelite has helped foster youth through bike builds, skateboard events, and so much more. Together, we’re committed to fostering change together, whether it’s by building bikes or creating safe spaces for kids to feel secure and supported.
